Yalaha is a small unincorporated community located in Lake County, Florida, in the southeastern United States. The community is situated on the eastern shore of Lake Harris, one of the largest lakes in the state of Florida. Yalaha has a rich history dating back to the early 1800s when settlers began moving into the area. The town was originally known as Bloomfield, and it was renamed Yalaha in the late 1800s. The name "Yalaha" is believed to be a Seminole Indian word meaning "orange blossom" or "water lily."
