Floral City is a small unincorporated community located in Citrus County, Florida, United States. It is situated in the central part of the state and is located approximately 60 miles north of Tampa and 80 miles west of Orlando. History: The history of Floral City dates back to the mid-1800s when the area was settled by a group of pioneers looking to establish a community in the region. The community was originally known as "Orange Home," and later "Chocochatti" before being named Floral City in 1883.
