Daytona Beach Shores is a city located in Volusia County, Florida, United States. It is situated on a barrier island on the Atlantic Ocean, just south of Daytona Beach. History: The area that now makes up Daytona Beach Shores was originally inhabited by the Timucuan Indians. In the early 19th century, settlers began to move into the area, and by the late 19th century, the area had become a popular destination for tourists. In 1960, the town of Daytona Beach Shores was incorporated.
