Bee Ridge is a small unincorporated community located in Sarasota County, Florida, United States. It is situated about 6 miles east of downtown Sarasota and 12 miles south of Bradenton. The community is bordered by Fruitville Road to the north, Bee Ridge Road to the south, Cattleman Road to the west, and Iona Road to the east. The history of Bee Ridge dates back to the early 1900s when the area was primarily used for cattle grazing and farming. The name "Bee Ridge" is believed to have originated from the abundance of bees in the area and the sandy ridge that runs through it.
