Bayport is an unincorporated community located in Hernando County, Florida, United States. It is situated on the Gulf of Mexico, just south of the Weeki Wachee River. The community is known for its natural beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities. The history of Bayport dates back to the mid-1800s, when it was an important shipping port for lumber and other goods. It was also a popular destination for fishermen, who came to catch tarpon and other game fish in the Gulf of Mexico.
