Bagdad is an unincorporated community located in Santa Rosa County, Florida, in the United States. It is situated on the shores of the Blackwater River, which is known for its clear water and excellent fishing. Bagdad is located approximately 12 miles east of the city of Milton and 20 miles northeast of Pensacola. The community of Bagdad was founded in the early 1800s, and it was named after the ancient city of Baghdad, Iraq. Bagdad was once a thriving industrial town, with sawmills, brickworks, and other industries. The Bagdad Land and Lumber Company, founded in 1909, was once the largest employer in the area.
