Arcadia is a city located in DeSoto County, Florida, United States. It is the county seat of DeSoto County and is located in the southwestern part of the state, near the Gulf of Mexico. As of the 2020 census, the population of Arcadia was 7,247. Arcadia was founded in 1886 and was incorporated in 1901. The city has a rich history, with many historic buildings and sites still standing. It is also known for its agricultural heritage, particularly in citrus and cattle ranching.
