Avon is a small town located in southeast Alabama, United States. It is situated in Crenshaw County and has a population of about 500 people. The town is located about 15 miles northwest of Luverne, Alabama, and is considered a part of the Montgomery Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was named after Avon, New York, the birthplace of one of its founders. Avon was incorporated in 1906 and has a mayor-council form of government. The town is home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, and a gas station. Avon is located in a rural part of the state and is known for its small-town charm.
