Yucaipa is a city located in San Bernardino County, California, in the United States. It is situated in the eastern part of the Inland Empire region of Southern California, about 80 miles east of Los Angeles. The city covers an area of approximately 27 square miles and has a population of over 54,000 people, according to the 2020 U.S. Census. Yucaipa has a rich history, dating back to the early 1800s when the area was inhabited by the Serrano Indians. In the late 1800s, the area became known for its fruit orchards, particularly for its apples, and it was a popular stop for stagecoaches traveling between Los Angeles and the desert. Today, Yucaipa is still known for its agricultural industry, with a number of citrus and avocado orchards located throughout the area.
