Westwood is a small town located in Lassen County, California, in the northeastern part of the state. It is situated at an elevation of 5,128 feet (1,563 meters) above sea level and has a population of approximately 1,700 people, according to the latest census data. History: Westwood was established as a company town by the Red River Lumber Company in 1913. The company built a large sawmill and employed thousands of workers to log the surrounding forests and produce lumber products. The town grew rapidly as a result, with a thriving economy and a vibrant community.
