West Whittier-Los Nietos is an unincorporated community located in Los Angeles County, California. It is situated in the southeastern part of the county, near the cities of Whittier, Pico Rivera, and Santa Fe Springs. History: The community was formed in 1961, when the areas of West Whittier and Los Nietos were merged into one community. Prior to the merger, both West Whittier and Los Nietos were small, unincorporated communities with rural roots. West Whittier was originally settled by farmers and ranchers in the late 1800s, while Los Nietos was settled by Spanish colonizers in the 1700s.
