Tennant is a small unincorporated community located in Siskiyou County, California, United States. It is situated near the border of Oregon, approximately 22 miles north-northeast of the city of Yreka. The community is located in a remote area, surrounded by the Cascade Range to the west and the Klamath Mountains to the east. The origins of Tennant can be traced back to the 1860s, when the area was settled by ranchers and farmers. The community was named after Samuel H. Tennant, who was a prominent businessman and landowner in the area. In the early 20th century, Tennant became an important transportation hub for the surrounding area, with a train station, hotel, and general store serving local residents and travelers passing through.
