Susanville is a small city located in Lassen County, California, in the northeastern part of the state. It is the county seat of Lassen County and is situated at an elevation of approximately 4,186 feet (1,276 m) above sea level. The city is named after Susan Roop, the daughter of Isaac Roop, a prominent early settler of the area. The population of Susanville was 15,386 according to the 2020 United States Census. The city covers an area of 8.4 square miles (21.8 square kilometers) and is located in the Honey Lake Valley.
