The city is relatively small, with a total area of just over three square miles. History: Stanton was incorporated as a city in 1956. Before that, it was a rural area with a few farms and a population of just a few hundred people. The city was named after Levi M. Stanton, who was a landowner and one of the founders of the Pacific Electric Railway.
