San Pablo is a city located in Contra Costa County, California, United States. It is located in the eastern region of the San Francisco Bay Area, and it is approximately 20 miles northeast of San Francisco. History: The area that is now San Pablo was originally inhabited by the Ohlone Native Americans. The first European settlement in the area was established by Spanish explorers in the late 1700s. In the early 1800s, the area was part of a large land grant given to Francisco Castro by the Mexican government. In 1948, San Pablo was incorporated as a city. Population: According to the United States Census Bureau, the population of San Pablo was approximately 30,215 as of 2020.
