San Miguel is a small unincorporated community located in San Luis Obispo County, California, United States. It is situated along US Highway 101, about 8 miles north of Paso Robles and 10 miles south of King City. History: San Miguel was originally inhabited by the Salinan Native American tribe. In 1797, the Spanish established the Mission San Miguel Arcangel in the area, which was one of the 21 missions established by the Spanish in California. The mission served as a religious and agricultural center for the local Native American population until it was secularized in 1834. After that, the land was divided among various private owners, and San Miguel gradually developed into a farming and ranching community.
