Running Springs is a small mountain community located in the San Bernardino Mountains of San Bernardino County, California. It is situated at an elevation of approximately 6,000 feet (1,800 m) above sea level and covers an area of 4.2 square miles (11 km²). Running Springs is approximately 20 miles (32 km) east of the city of San Bernardino and about 70 miles (113 km) east of Los Angeles. Running Springs is known for its beautiful scenery and outdoor recreational activities. The area is surrounded by the San Bernardino National Forest, which offers hiking, camping, fishing, and other outdoor activities. During the winter, Running Springs is a popular destination for skiing and snowboarding at nearby Snow Valley Ski Resort and other nearby mountain resorts.
