Rosemead is a city located in the San Gabriel Valley region of Los Angeles County, California, United States. It has a population of approximately 54,000 people as of the 2020 census. The city is bordered by San Gabriel to the north, Temple City to the east, Monterey Park to the south, and El Monte to the west. History: The area that is now Rosemead was originally inhabited by the Tongva people, a Native American tribe. The land was later part of the San Gabriel Mission and was used for agriculture. In the late 1800s, the land was sold to developers who subdivided it into residential lots. The city was incorporated in 1959.
