Rosedale is a small unincorporated community located in Kern County, California, in the United States. It is located about 12 miles northwest of Bakersfield and is situated near the intersection of State Route 58 and State Route 43. History: The community of Rosedale was established in the late 19th century as a railroad town. The Southern Pacific Railroad built a line through the area in the 1880s, and a town was established to support the railroad workers and their families. The town was named after J. S. Rose, a prominent landowner in the area.
