Rohnert Park has a population of approximately 42,000 people as of the 2020 census. History: Rohnert Park was named after the Rohnert family, who owned a large ranch in the area in the 19th century. The city was officially incorporated in 1962 as a planned community, with the goal of providing affordable housing to veterans and their families.
