Rainbow is a small unincorporated community in northern San Diego County, California, located approximately 14 miles southeast of Temecula and 12 miles northeast of Oceanside. The community is situated along the Interstate 15 corridor, which connects San Diego to the Inland Empire and beyond. The area known as Rainbow was first settled by Native Americans, including the Luiseno and Pechanga tribes. In the late 1800s, the area began to be developed for agriculture, with citrus and avocado groves becoming a major industry. Today, Rainbow is still home to many farms and nurseries, and is known for its fresh produce and plants.
