Pomona is a city located in Los Angeles County, California, United States. It is situated in the eastern part of the San Gabriel Valley and is approximately 27 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. The city covers an area of 22.95 square miles and has a population of approximately 152,000 people (according to the 2020 census). Pomona has a rich history dating back to the 1800s when it was first settled by European immigrants. The city was named after the Roman goddess of fruit and trees, Pomona. It was originally an agricultural hub and was known for its citrus groves, walnut orchards, and vineyards.
