Plumas Eureka is a small unincorporated community located in Plumas County, California, United States. It is situated in the Sierra Nevada mountains, at an elevation of about 5,200 feet (1,585 m) above sea level. The community is located in the heart of the Plumas National Forest and is surrounded by beautiful natural scenery, including forests, lakes, and mountains. The history of Plumas Eureka dates back to the mid-19th century when gold was discovered in the area. The gold rush brought many prospectors to the area, and Plumas Eureka became a bustling mining town. The Eureka Mills were built in 1863, and a large stamp mill was constructed in 1871, which processed ore from nearby mines. The town grew rapidly, with a population of over 1,000 people at its peak.
