Oroville East is an unincorporated community located in Butte County, California, United States. It is located on the eastern side of the city of Oroville, which is the county seat of Butte County. Oroville East is situated near the eastern shore of Lake Oroville, which is a large reservoir created by the Oroville Dam on the Feather River. As of the 2020 census, the population of Oroville East was 8,027. The community covers an area of 16.25 square miles and is situated at an elevation of 623 feet above sea level. Oroville East is primarily a residential community, with a mix of single-family homes, apartments, and mobile homes. There are also several small businesses located within the community, including restaurants, gas stations, and convenience stores.
