Orangevale is a small suburban community located in Sacramento County, California, United States. It is located approximately 25 miles northeast of Sacramento, the state capital. History: Orangevale was originally known as "Orange Vale Colony" and was founded as a citrus-growing community in the late 1800s. The community was named after the many orange groves that were planted in the area. Today, however, there are very few orange groves left in Orangevale, as the area has largely been developed into a residential and commercial community. Population: As of the 2020 census, Orangevale had a population of approximately 35,000 people. The community has a diverse population, with a mix of families, young professionals, and retirees.
