Oakdale is a city located in Stanislaus County, California, United States. It is situated in the San Joaquin Valley, about 100 miles east of San Francisco and 20 miles east-northeast of Modesto. The city covers an area of approximately 6.0 square miles and has a population of around 22,000 people, as of the 2020 United States Census. Oakdale is known as the "Cowboy Capital of the World" due to its strong rodeo culture and history. The city is home to the Oakdale Cowboy Museum, which features exhibits on the history of rodeo and the cowboy way of life. Every year, Oakdale hosts the Oakdale Rodeo, which is the longest continuously running rodeo in California and one of the top 10 rodeos in the United States.
