It is located in the Inland Empire region of Southern California and has a population of over 215,000 people, according to the United States Census Bureau as of 2020. History: The area that is now Moreno Valley was originally inhabited by the indigenous Serrano people. The land was later used as grazing land for cattle and horses by Spanish explorers and missionaries in the 1700s. In the 1800s, the land was acquired by American settlers, who primarily used it for farming and agriculture.
