Middletown is a small town located in Lake County, California, United States. It is situated about 20 miles north of Calistoga and 40 miles east of Santa Rosa. The town is surrounded by beautiful natural scenery and is known for its quiet and relaxed way of life. History: Middletown was founded in 1859 by Henry C. Davis, who established a sawmill and lumberyard in the area. The town was originally called Middle Station, as it was situated midway between Calistoga and Lower Lake, but later became known as Middletown. The town grew during the late 19th and early 20th centuries as a result of the logging and mining industries in the area.
