Mesa Vista is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Alpine County, California, United States. As of the 2020 census, Mesa Vista had a population of 175 people. Geographically, Mesa Vista is situated in the eastern part of Alpine County, at an elevation of approximately 6,000 feet (1,800 m) above sea level. It is located within the Toiyabe National Forest, and is surrounded by mountains and forests, making it a popular destination for outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and fishing. The CDP covers an area of 7.06 square miles (18.29 square kilometers), all of it being land. Mesa Vista is located on State Route 89, which runs north-south through the eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains. The town of Markleeville, the county seat of Alpine County, is located approximately 10 miles south of Mesa Vista.
