It is situated at the base of the Santa Cruz Mountains, just west of Los Altos and north of Los Altos Hills. Loyola is bordered by the cities of Palo Alto, Mountain View, and Cupertino. The community is named after Loyola University Chicago, which had a campus in the area in the 1950s. Loyola is known for its scenic beauty, with tree-lined streets and views of the mountains.
