Lomita is a city located in the South Bay region of Los Angeles County, California, United States. It covers an area of 1.9 square miles and has a population of approximately 20,000 people (as of 2021). History: Lomita was originally part of Rancho San Pedro, a land grant given to Juan Jose Dominguez by the King of Spain in the late 18th century. The land changed hands several times before being purchased by developers in the early 20th century. The city was incorporated in 1964.
