Lakeview is a small unincorporated community in Riverside County, California, located approximately 80 miles southeast of Los Angeles. It is situated in the San Jacinto Valley, near the eastern edge of the Perris Block, between Lake Perris to the north and Diamond Valley Lake to the south. History: Lakeview was originally known as Fremont, after John C. Fremont, who explored the area in the mid-1800s. The town was later renamed Lakeview due to its location near a large lake, which has since dried up. In the early 1900s, the area was primarily agricultural, with many citrus groves and vineyards.
