Lake Los Angeles is an unincorporated community located in the Antelope Valley region of Los Angeles County, California, USA. It is situated about 17 miles east of Palmdale and 25 miles west of Victorville. The community was named for the artificial lake that was created in the area in the 1960s. The Lake Los Angeles area was originally part of a Spanish land grant known as Rancho La Liebre. The area was primarily used for farming until the 1930s when it was converted into a movie set. Many western movies were filmed in the area, including scenes from the TV series Bonanza and The Rifleman.
