The town covers an area of approximately 0.8 square miles and had a population of 1,707 as of the 2010 U.S. Census. Graton is a rural community surrounded by rolling hills and vineyards, and it is known for its picturesque landscapes and its small-town charm. The town has a rich history dating back to the 19th century, when it was founded as a stop on the Northwestern Pacific Railroad.
