Glendale is a city located in Los Angeles County, California, in the United States. It is a part of the Greater Los Angeles Area and has a population of approximately 200,000 people, making it the third largest city in the San Fernando Valley. History: Glendale was originally inhabited by the Tongva people before the arrival of the Spanish in the 18th century. It was then part of the Rancho San Rafael and Rancho San Francisco land grants before being incorporated as a city in 1906. In the 1920s and 30s, Glendale became a popular location for the film industry and was known as "The Jewel City."
