Dorrington is an unincorporated community in Calaveras County, California, located in the Sierra Nevada mountain range. It is situated along Highway 4 and is about 10 miles east of Arnold and 16 miles west of Bear Valley. Dorrington has a small population and is primarily a residential area, with a mix of permanent residents and vacation homes. The community is surrounded by the Stanislaus National Forest and is close to a number of recreational areas, including the Calaveras Big Trees State Park, the Stanislaus River, and the Bear Valley Ski Resort. Outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, skiing, and snowboarding are popular in the area.
