The city is located in the northern part of the Sacramento Valley, about 19 miles south of Red Bluff and 100 miles north of Sacramento. Corning is known for its agricultural industry, particularly for its production of olives and almonds. It is also home to the Olive Pit, a popular roadside stop that sells olives, olive oil, and other food items.
