China Lake Acres is an unincorporated community located in Kern County, California, United States. It is situated approximately 10 miles north-northeast of the city of Ridgecrest, and is adjacent to the Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake. The community is primarily residential and has a population of around 1,500 people. The area was originally developed in the 1950s as housing for civilian workers at the nearby naval base. Today, China Lake Acres is a small, quiet community with a mix of older and newer homes, as well as a small commercial area that includes a convenience store and a few other businesses.
