Calimesa is primarily a residential community, with a small retail district and a few light industrial parks. The city is known for its rural atmosphere, citrus groves, and proximity to outdoor recreation areas, including the San Bernardino National Forest. Calimesa is located about 10 miles west of the city of Yucaipa and about 70 miles east of Los Angeles.
