Burney is a small unincorporated community in Shasta County, California, United States. It is located about 30 miles east of Redding and about 20 miles west of Lassen Volcanic National Park. The town has a population of approximately 2,600 people and serves as a hub for outdoor recreation, with the nearby McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park being a popular destination for tourists. The park features scenic waterfalls, camping and hiking opportunities, and fishing in the nearby lake.
