The town is located in the Victor Valley of the Mojave Desert, approximately 85 miles northeast of Los Angeles. Apple Valley is known for its desert climate, outdoor recreational opportunities, and its proximity to several scenic parks and wildlife preserves, including the Mojave National Preserve and Joshua Tree National Park.
